ITINERARY

Baker Mountain Guides offers custom ascents of the West Ridge. We recommend a three-day itinerary.

  • Day 1: Approach

We’ll rendezvous in Marblemount at 7:30 AM. Your guide will conduct a meet-and-greet and gear check, and supply guests with group equipment. We’ll travel up the Cascade River Valley to the trailhead. A challenging approach is rewarded with the splendor of Boston Basin.

  • Day 2: Summit Day

Our day will begin long before dawn. We’ll ascend snow and technical rock to gain the ridge. Exposed scrambling and short, steep sections of moderate rock characterize the final push to the summit. We’ll rappel and downclimb the route back to camp.

  • Day 3: Descent

On our final day, we’ll wake at a reasonable hour and eat a hearty breakfast. Afterwards, we’ll pack up camp, and descend through Boston Basin to the trailhead.
